Wednesday Street Water Main Improvements
In line with its commitment to providing best-in-class utility services, the City of Tallahassee is planning a project to replace potable water infrastructure within portions of the Wednesday Street corridor between Potts Road and Capital Circle NE (State Road 319/County Road 261). The project limits are shown on the map below.
The purpose of this project is to replace approximately 2,100 linear feet of water mains as well as valves, fire hydrants, water services and meter settings. This investment will improve the City’s ability to continue providing safe, reliable drinking water and fire protection.
The City contracted with a consultant to design these improvements. In November 2023, a land surveyor that is a part of the design team collected data in the area, such as right-of-way and utility easement boundaries; location, size, and depth of existing utilities; tree locations and sizes; the location of physical improvements within the right-of-way/easements; and topographic information.
Construction of the project is tentatively planned to start in 2026. Additional information will be provided as this project moves forward.
